CFSC Executive

Fundraising

Fundraising is critical to the ongoing success of CFSC. Fundraising helps cover the cost of a variety of CFSC activities, including professional coaching and ice time.

Our fundraising efforts includes both mandatory and optional components. Each club member is required to complete the mandatory fundraising as part of their program registration, while the optional fundraising supports the club and provides opportunities to club members to earn credits for registration and equipment.

Mandatory Fundraising: Purdy's Chocolate Bars
Canskate: 1 box per session, 2 boxes per full season
JumpStart: 3 boxes
STARSkate: 5 boxes
Please bring your cheque book when registering.

Optional Fundraising: Rexall Place, Bingos, Skate-a-Thon, Mundare Sausages.
Cookie dough fundraiser will be used to offset the cost of CFSC Jackets

If you are willing to assist with club fundraising please contact the Fundraising Coordinator, Patty Duncan (474-4192)

Rexall Place Fundraising (2007–2008)

The CFSC has joined with four other Edmonton-area skating clubs to form the United Figure Skaters Association (UFSA). UFSA is providing volunteers to staff concessions during events at Rexall Place. The money raised during these events is available to skaters to help pay for the many costs of skating.

We will be responsible for 39 events for which we need to send one person per event to work in a concession. The monies earned will go into a trust account in the name of the skater. In order to withdraw the money, you must have a receipt for registration fees, skates, skating attire, skate sharpening, etc.

The payment for shifts is as follows:
$30 for orientation (approx. 3 hours); $10.00 will be kept by UFSA for expenses.
$65 for hockey games (approx. 5 hours)
$40 for 4 hours or less
$70 for 5 – 6.5 hours
$95 for 7 – 8.5 hours, and
$110 for 9 hours or more.
Add $15 to each of these amounts if it is a statuary holiday.

To participate in this program you MUST attend an orientation class at Rexall Place.
You also must work one bingo.

Orientation dates are as follows:
    November 28 at 6:00 pm
    December 10 at 6:00pm
    December 17 at 6:00pm
    January 3 at 6:00pm
Meet in front of the Wayne Gretzky statue and someone from Rexall will come to get you promptly at 6pm. You cannot be late. Please contact the Rexall Coordinator, Sabine Van Der Kley (475–5446) prior to the Orientation class for more info. More orientation dates will be available in the future.

When we have the dates that need to be worked, we will inform those who have registered for the Orientation class.

For further information, contact Sabine Van Der Kley.
