Coaching Team
The Centennial Figure Skating Club uses a team coaching method. Skaters will receive lessons from the team leader as well as the junior coaches. All lessons during club ice-time are included in the registration fees.
Karen Brown — Team Leader
- Head Coach of CanSkate, Pre-STARSkate, STARSkate, and AdultSkate
- Level 3 NCCP certified
- 35 years coaching experience
- Gold Free Skate, Skills, Dance (accredited)
- Coached Senior National and Western Challenge competitors
Angela Anderson — B.A., B.Ed.
- Coaches CanSkate, Pre-STARSkate, and STARSkate, as well as off-ice programs
- Certified CanSkate coach; Level 1 NCCP, partial
- First year as a certified figure skating coach; Program Assistant for 3 years with CFSC;
Track & Field coach for 3 years in NWT
- Four years skating with CFSC; 2007 National Adult Champion in the Womems Bronze Free Skate
- NWT Sportsmanship Award for Figure Skating (2003);
Edmonton Region and Alberta/NWT/NUN Region Program Assistant Awards (2006)
